Sir Geraint

  • Knights of the Round Table

Sir Geraint (or Gereint) was the eldest son of King Erbin of Cornwall. Geraint was one of the first Knights of the Round Table and participated in many adventures. One of his most important battles occurred when he confronted Sir Yder, who had offended Lady Guinevere.

Geraint married Lady Enid and spent half of his time at Camelot's court and the other half at his castle in Cornwall. In spite of being considered a great warrior, Geraint was considered like a bad governor and ended up eventually returning to Camelot.

His wife always accompanied him in his adventures, until almost be violated by a giant when he managed to knock Geraint. Geraint woke up with the screams of Enid and managed to kill the giant Limuris before this one did something bad to her.

Geraint is inspired by King Gerren, son of Erbin of Dumnonia, who became famous in the Celtic poem "Elegia a Gereint", describing his death at the Battle of Llongborth at the turn of the sixth century.

From next week, we will return to Hidden History, talking about the Origins of the Knights Templar and the Crusades; its connections with the pyramids and with the Ark of the Covenant.
