Sacred Trident

The Trident of Poseidon, often referred to only as Trident is, as the name implies, the trident that belonged to the Greek god of the seas: Poseidon, which serves as one of its main symbols.

In the present times, the trident of Poseidon is in possession of its son: Tritão.

 

Story:


In earlier stories, Poseidon is already depicted holding his famous trident. It is said that the weapon was forged by three Cyclops, although other stories say that the trident of Poseidon and the ray of Zeus were originally a sacred Labrys, which took its distinct form when Poseidon became god of the seas.

Poseidon used his famous trident for a long time during the Mythological Era, but eventually delivered it to his son Triton along with the rank of King of Atlantis.

The Trident is in the throne room in the castle of Atlantica and can not be removed from its resting place by people who are not part of the royal family (although this is ignored by Vinix's immunity).

The weapon eventually became the target of the sea witch Ursula and her sister Morgana.

 

Powers:


The Trident is known for firing powerful bundles of energy and a great dominion over the element Water and its subdivisions (Like the element Ice, for example), being able to create storms, swirls, to make way in the sea, to create rainbow and several others things.

However, as a divine weapon, it can do much more than that with almost limitless possibilities.

The trident has already demonstrated the power of metamorphosis, such as changing the size of its bearer or changing the form or race (Since the Trident is able to transform Ariel into a human).

At times it is said that the trident is incapable of injuring any non-marine creature (Like humans), however, this statement is probably erroneous since the opposite has been proved several times.
