Pegasus

Pegasus (Greek: Πήγασος; transl .: Pegasus), in Greek mythology, is a winged horse symbol of immortality. Its figure originates from Greek mythology, present in the myth of Perseus and Medusa.

Pegasus was born of the blood of Medusa when it was beheaded by Perseus.

 

 

Belerofonte and Pegasus

 

Bellerophon killed the mighty Chimera, riding Pegasus after taming him with the help of Athena and the golden reins, who then tried to use it to reach Mount Olympus. But Zeus caused him to overthrow his knight by causing a wasp to sting him, and Bellerophon died because of the great height.

Zeus rewarded him by turning him into the constellation of Pegasus, where he should henceforth be at the service of the gods. Another story says that when Zeus sent the wasp and Bellerophon fell, Athena ordered the ground to be soft, so he would not die for the fall.
