History

 

Moby Dick is a novel by the American writer Herman Melville, about a white sperm whale (large marine animal) that was chased, and even wounded several times by whalers, managed to defend himself and destroy them, in the adventures narrated by sailor Ishmael along with Captain Ahab and the first mate Starbuck aboard the Pequod whaler. It was originally published in three issues with the title "Moby-Dick, The Whale" in London and New York in 1851
